In Memoriam: Patty Powell Ripple
Patty Powell was born to Mary Jane Davis and Melvin Powell on July 4, 1955. She has two brothers Mike and Paige, and sister Cindy.
She graduated from Parkdale High School. Patty drove the commuter bus for the Prince George’s Board of Education for more than 10 years and the Laurel Connect for a number of years until she retired.
She and Howard Ripple were married for 33 years. She was loving and devoted wife. They lived in West Lanham Hills for many years, and were active in the community, helping out many of the neighbors.
They have a daughter, Melissa, and four grandchildren.
She was baptized on April 28, 2019 and became a dedicated member of United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord. Patty enjoyed watching football. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys. She loved reading and her dogs.
She was a true friend to many neighbors and friends. Sadly, Patty was diagnosed with dementia, and had several other health problems. She passed away on October 21, 2020.
